Elder Grove was created as a district in 1885. We believe it to be the longest continuous running school district it in the state of Montan. We still use the original
school house that was built in 1900 out of chicken wire and hay bales. The original school bell is still in the bell tower and is used every day at 8AM to let the students know it is time for class. It is a nice way for us to connect the past with the present!
We are hoping to create a timeline of our school in the future. As you can imagine, this is a time consuming process. We have 130 years of information to comb through. If you would like to help with this project please let Carol Phillips, District Technology Director, know. She can be reached at:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the meantime please feel free to take a look at some of the photos we have loaded in the Elder Grove History Gallery. Who knows, you might see a family member or friend in their younger days! We will be adding more photos as time permits so don't forget to stop by again later.
